The Liquid Based Cytology (LBC) is a modern cytological preparation technique that employs a liquid medium to suspend cervical cells collected with a brush. Compared to conventional smear methods, LBC offers enhanced specimen quality and diagnostic accuracy. Studies have consistently demonstrated LBC's superior performance in detecting cervical abnormalities, including precancerous lesions and invasive carcinoma. By minimizing the interference of blood and mucus and optimizing cell preservation, LBC significantly reduces the incidence of inadequate samples.
